STI Controls, LP (a division of Magnetrol International) recently introduced their Eclipse Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter to the water and wastwater markets. This new transmitter will probably replace the less convenient RF capacitance level transmitters in most applications since it doesn't need calibrations. Using a guided radar pulse on a probe up to fifty feet long, the transmitter detects differences in the dialectric between the air / liquid interface. It can be used on chemical storage tanks and has also been used on wet well level and even on digester level. The two-wire transmitter has HART capabilities but can be set-up from the indicator using the two push-buttons. Configuration consists mainly of defining the length of the probe and setting-up at what levels the transmitter should transmit 0 and 100%. Again, calibration is not required. Call MAG Systems for a list of users or if you would like to be considered for a trial order. |
